You're Reading: Update to Active Python Database Modules

A post in ODBC & Python Coding & U2 SQL

While I have been on hiatus during this summer, Active State have not.

They have released a number of updates to their version of Python, in particular to the database interface modules (archive.org), which are of interest to me.

There are the main contenders; MS-SQL and Oracle, along with the opensource  databases of MySQL (Oracle again, and open for how long?) and PostgreSQL. The remaining database module is for the generic ODBC, which is the main interest to me for connecting to the U2 ODBC.

The only database module which is part of the community edition of ActivePython is the MySQL – mysql-python.
